Steamed Mussels in Lager

3 lbs mussels
2 bottles lager beer
6 cloves garlic
2 scallions, chopped fine
1 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp Tabasco
1/3 stick butterRecipe
In stock pot, fry chopped garlic and scallions in butter until just golden. Add beer and spices, then bring to boil. Add mussels and steam until opened, about 5 minutes or so.
Serve with garlic mayonnaise:
1/2 c mayonnaise
4 cloves garlic, smashed
dash of Tabasco
1/4 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp white pepper
1/4 tsp dry mustard
Combine all together.
