    French Pork Chops

    List of Ingredients




    2 each pork center loin chops -- bone-in 1"-thick
    salt and fresh ground black pepper -- to taste
    garlic salt -- if desired
    2 tablespoons butter
    1 large ripe tomato -- firm/ripe
    1 8oz jar sliced button mushrooms
    several sprigs of fresh parsley
    8 ounces heavy cream
    1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

    Brown the chops in the 2 tbl of butter till lightly browned on both sides. Remove from heat. Top each chop with diced tomatoes, sliced mushrooms and the sprigs of parsley. Carefully pour the heavy cream over all so as not to disturb the toppings on the chops. Cover container and bake at 350~ for 90 minutes. Remove from oven and top with the mozzarella cheese. Return to oven (uncovered) and bake about 10 more minutes till cheese is melted.

    Remove chops to warmed plates surrounding each with the pan-like gravy and fallen bits of tomatoes and mushrooms.
