1 lb potatoes (thinly sliced)
2 tablespoons margarine or butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk
3/4 cup shredded white cheddar or american cheese
Recipe
Grease 1 1/2 quart casserole and set aside. In saucepan cook onion and garlic in margarine until tender, but not brown. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Add milk and cook until thick. Add cheddar cheese stir until melted. Place half of potatoes in casserole dish and cover with half the sauce. Add remaining potatoes and cover with remaining sauce. Bake covered in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Makes 6 servings
