    List of Ingredients




    For the Meatballs:
    1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
    1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
    1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
    2 large eggs
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon basil
    1 tablespoon dried parsley
    salt and fresh ground black pepper -- to taste
    1/4 cup water -- to moisten mixture
    For Sauce:
    1/4 cup virgin olive oil
    1 medium onion -- chopped
    3 links Italian sausage -- hot type
    3 links Italian sausage -- sweet type
    4 each spareribs (short ribs of beef okay) -- cut into individual ribs
    3 28oz cans tomatoes in tomato puree
    1 12oz can tomato paste
    12 ounces water -- use tomato paste can
    2 tablespoons dried parsley
    1 tablespoon basil
    1 teaspoon oregano
    salt and fresh ground black pepper -- to taste
    pasta -- your choice -- cook as directed

    Prepare the meatballs, add 1/4 c. water & mix until well blended. Shape into balls about 1 1/2 in. in diameter. Set aside.

    Prepare the sauce. Add olive oil to a large wide pot over medium high heat. When oil is hot add the onion and garlic. Stir until the onion is softened and garlic is lightly browned.

    Working in batches, brown hot sausages, sweet sausages, spare ribs and reserved meatballs. Transfer browned meats to a platter or tray. When all the meat is browned return it all to the pot over medium heat.

    Place tomatoes & puree in a large bowl and crush into small pieces. Add them to the pot. Add the tomato paste ,fill the empty can with water and add it to the pot. Add the remaining spices along with salt & pepper to taste.
