Cheddar Ham Chowder

Recipe Introduction
This is a wonderful soup to fix on those cool autumn nights.
List of Ingredients
2 c. water
1/2 c. sliced carrots
1/2 c. sliced celery
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 c. shredded cheddar
2 c. whole kernel corn (1 can undrained)
1 1/2 c. cubed cooked ham Recipe
In large pot bring to boil water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt,
pepper. Reduce heat. Cover & simmer for 8-10 min., or until tender.
Remove from heat; DO NOT DRAIN!
Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, melt butter, blend in flour, add milk;
stir until thick and bubbly. Add shredded cheddar; stir until melted.
Add to undrained veggies. Return to heat, add corn and ham stirring
occasionally.
