    List of Ingredients

6 slices French Bread, 1-inch thick
    4 large Eggs
    1 cup Milk
    1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
    1/4 tsp. ground Cinnamon
    1/8 tsp. ground Nutmeg
1/3 cup Butter or Margarine, softened
2/3 cup Brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 tbs. Dark Corn Syrup
    1/2 cup Walnuts, chopped

    Recipe

Place French bread slices in a buttered 9-inch by 13-inch baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and cover to refrigerate overnight, or at least 2 hours prior to baking.

Remove the egg soaked bread from the fridge about 30-minutes before baking.

Pre-heat the oven to 350-F degrees.

In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and dark corn syrup until smooth; spread the buttery mixture over the top of the bread slices.

Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the top of the buttered bread slices. Bake uncovered for about 1 hour or until golden brown. Serve hot from the oven with maple or fruit syrup.(Serves 3 to 4)
