    Romagene's Bread Pudding

    Recipe Introduction

    Romagene just eyeballs the ingredients and comes out with a delicious dish , so I collaborated with her on deciding what the ingredient amounts were . Now it's perfect everytime.

    List of Ingredients

    6 Cups of stale bread,cake,donuts or biscuits
    3 Eggs
    1 Cup sugar (less if using cake or donuts)
    3 Cups milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/8th teaspoon nutmeg
    1 tablespoon melted butter
    Options : raisins , coconut , any dried fruit

    SAUCE : 1 cup sugar , 2 tbs. cornstarch , 1/8th tsp. nutmeg ,1/8th tsp. salt, 2cups hot water , 1 tbs. butter , 2 tbs. vanilla


    Recipe

    Fill a 6 cup measure with torn or broken bread pieces . Butter a 2 quart , 3 inch deep ovenproof dish and dump in bread . Use same measuring pitcher to beat eggs , sugar and milk . Add vanilla and nutmeg to milk mixture and pour over bread . Push bread down under milk and stir in melted butter and any options . Smooth top and bake at 350 uncovered for 30-40 minutes . Cool uncovered .

    Sauce : Mix sugar , cornstarch , nutmeg and salt together in a small saucepan.Stir in hot water and cook on medium heat until bubbly . Stir in butter and vanilla .

    Serve warm pudding with several tablespoons of sauce on top . Be generous with the sauce .
