Recipe Introduction
When bottled spaghetti sauce will not do.
List of Ingredients
6 medium fresh Roma tomatoes peeled , 2 tablespoons chopped
cored and coursely chopped fresh parsley
or cans of diced tomatoes to make about 3 cups
2 tablespoons olive oil 1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped onion 2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup chopped green pepper 1/2 teaspoon basil leaves
crushed
1 clove garlic , minced 1/4 teaspoon oregano
crushed
1/8 teaspoon pepperRecipe
1. In food processor or blender , puree 1 1/2 cups chopped tomatoes ; set aside.
2. Heat oil in large saucepan
3. Add onion, green pepper and garlic ; cook until tender
4. Stir in chopped and pureed tomatoes , salt , sugar , pepper , parsley , basil and oregano. Cook over medium-low heat stirring occasionally, until thickened,40-50 minutes.
5. Add cooked meat if desired . Use for lasagna , spaghetti , etc. or freeze .
