    Recipe Introduction

This is a southern dish that frequents most food events during the Christmas season. It is like egg nog but no spice and you can drink it or pour it like a sauce over layers of thick chocolate cake. Barry has me make this every Christmas.

    List of Ingredients

    2 cups whole milk
    6 TB sugar
    1 TB cornstarch
    2 LG eggs
    1/2 tsp vanilla

    Recipe

Hear 1-1/2 cups of milk in double boiler just heat it before it boils to keep skin from forming.
Sift sugar, cornstarch into bowl, stir in 1/2 cup milk.
In small bowl beat eggs. Stream 1/4 cup of hot milk into the bowl with the eggs and whisk constantly as you pour. Slowly pour this egg mixture into doubler whisking constantly.
Stir in sugar mixture and cook until it thickens, about 15 minutes or until it coats the back of a spoon. stir in vanilla. I always have to make 2 batches as this one is never enough.
