    Brown Sugar Pie

    Source of Recipe

    Mrs. Litz (Home Eck teacher)

    Recipe Introduction

My very first pie, wow, that was ages ago when I was taking Home Eck in High School. The teacher gave us this recipe to make and I was so proud of my accomplishments. This pie was very good and I continued to make it on several occasions for my family.

    List of Ingredients

    4 eggs
    1 pound light brown sugar
    3/4 cup water
    1/4 cup soft margarine
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    Pecan halves
Line a 9 inch glass pie plate with a piecurst of your choice. Beat eggs in a small mixing bowl until frothy. Set aside. Mix sugar and water in a 2 quart pan. Place over heat stirring until sugar dissolves. Bring to a full boil and cook for 3 minutes. Gradually stir hot syrup into eggs. Blend margarine and flavoring into mixture. Pour mixture into the pie crust and arrange pecans on top of filling in a pretty pattern. Bake in the oven 350 for 1 hour or until set. Let cool.
