Recipe Introduction
This is our favorite soup and so good for a winters day enjoy!
List of Ingredients
1-1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup green pepper chopped
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped carrots
2 quarts chopped tomatoes with juice
1/4 tsp dried oregano
chili powder to taste
red pepper flakes to taste
garlic salt to taste
pepper to taste
4-oz spaghetti broken into small pieces
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1 can sliced mushrooms, undrainedRecipe
In a big pot, brown ground beef, drain. Add onion, green pepper, celery, carrots, tomatoes and oregano. Season with chili powder, red pepper flakes, garlic salt and pepper to taste. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti until tender. Drain and rinse. Add the spaghetti sauce and mushrooms to beef mixture; simmer a few minutes longer. Just before serving, stir in spaghetti, heat through.
(When in a hurry) (most of the time) for the vegetables I just open mixed vegetables, judge how much of them you want in the soup. Go easy with the spaghetti sauce, maybe just a cup full as you don't want the soup thick like a stew and always add more water to get it thin like soup. I usually add more chili but do a taste test to determine what you like
