Bacon + Cheese Bread Bowl

Bacon + Cheese Bread Bowl
Fry 1 pound bacon until crisp, drain and crumble,
...reserve drippings
1 round or oval loaf of sourdough or french bread
Cut top off and set aside for "lid", leaving a shell about
1/2 inch thick.
Remove bread and cut into cubes, placing cubes on a foiled covered
baking sheet.
Brush inside of shell with reserved drippings.
Place shell on a foil covered baking sheet.
Bake both at 350 degrees F. for 15 to 20 minutes, turning cubes
occasionally.
In a mixing bowl combine:
8 ounces softened cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
Add:
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped green onion
Add bacon crumbles.
Place mixture into bread shell, top with bread "lid".
Keep warm in oven at 150 to 200 degrees F. for about 20
minutes, or until ready to serve.
Serve warmed shell with bread cubes.
Makes 10 servings.
