    I got this recipe from a friend over 20 years ago.
    It's a very easy but quite impressive hors d'oeuvres
    recipe.

    Mushroom Rolls, toasted

    1/2 lb. mushrooms
    1/4 cup butter
    3 tbs. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 cup Half & Half
    3 tbs. minced chives
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1 large loaf sandwich bread

    Saute mushrooms in butter until all liquid is gone.
    Blend in flour and salt.
    Stir in Half & Half; cook until thick.
    Add chives and lemon juice and blend well.
    Remove crust from bread.
    Roll each slice thin with a rolling pin.
    Spread mushroom mixture on each slice, about 1 tsp.
    Roll up and brush with melted butter.
    Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

    May be frozen before baking.
