for the pie crust:
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 pound ground hamburger meat
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped green peppers
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
for the pie filling:
1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1 1/3 cup cooked rice
Combine all of the ingredients for meat crust in a bowl
and mix well with a fork.
Then pat the meat mixture gently into the bottom and
up the sides of a greased 9-inch pie plate.
This is the crust.
Combine the tomato sauce, water, salt, 1/2 cup Cheddar
cheese and mix well.
Spoon this pie filling into the meat crust.
Cover with foil.
Bake in a moderate 350 degree F. oven for 25 minutes.
Uncover and top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.
Bake uncovered 10 to 15 minutes longer.
