    ground - Beef Pies, individual, #4, w/seasonings

    Source of Recipe

    .
I did this one after checking others. I may try
using a purchased pastry or using 2/3 layers of
the layered biscuits instead of making my own crust.
Will let you know how it works out.

    ground - Beef Pies, individual, #4, w/seasonings

    for pastry:
    4 cups flour
1 3/4 cup butter flavored vegetable shortening
    1 Tablespoon granulated white sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup water
    1 egg
    1 Tablespoon white vinegar

    for filling:
    1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
    1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1 beef bouillon Cube
    1 cup boiling water
    1 pound ground beef
    1 finely chopped yellow onion
    1 teaspoon freshly minced garlic
    1 Tablespoon dried parsley
(1, 8 ounce can tomato sauce, optional)

    for pastry:
Mix flour, shortening, sugar and salt into crumbs.
In another bowl, beat water, egg and vinegar together
and then add to the crumbs.
    Set aside.

    for filling:
Mix paprika, allspice, salt and pepper together
in a small bowl and set aside.
Disssolve beef cube into boiling water and set aside.
    Saute the beef.
Add the bouillon water to the beef.
Sprinkle with spice mixture. Stir and cook until the
is blended in well and cooked down to how you want.
    Set aside.

    to assemble:
Roll out dough in circles large enough to fit down
into, up sides and a little sticking out the top for
regular cupcake tin or large muffin tin.
Roll out more dough into cirlces that will fit the
tops of the tin you are using and set aside.
    Fill each opening 3/4's full.
Place smaller circles on top of each.
Fold over extra dough to seal.
Use a fork or knife to poke a few holes in the top
    of the dough.
    Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 - 25 minutes, until
    the crust is browned.

    Note:
If you think the filling is too dry, you may add the
tomato sauce to the mixture before assembling.
May be cooled and then frozen to use another time.
