I like to grill the buns, then put on some “secret sauce” (thousand
island dressing) when I serve these. This should serve 12, but guests
usually want two – so I say it serves 6. Enjoy!
ground - Pickle Burgers, baked
1-1/2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
1/2 pound Lean Ground Pork
2 Eggs, lightly beaten
1 Cup Low-fat Milk
1 Cup Dried Bread Crumbs (any flavor)
2 Tbs Onion, chopped
1-1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
Marinade:
2/3 Cup Dill Pickle, finely chopped
1/4 Cup plus 2 Tbs Dill Pickle Brine (liquid)
12 Hamburger Buns, for serving
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large mixing bowl, combine meats, eggs,
milk, bread crumbs, onion and spices; mix well. Shape mixture into 12
patties and place in a greased jelly roll pan or whatever pan that will
hold all 12 patties.
Bake, uncovered, 20 minutes. Meanwhile, combine chopped pickles and
brine and use to paste patties. Continue to bake for 30 minutes longer,
basting occasionally. Serve with buns.
