I made this tonight, 11/17/8, but with hamburgers
in a skillet, and it was delicious!
roast - Barbecued Beef Roast #2, for 4
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 pounds boneless beef chuck shoulder steak, cut 3/4 inch thick
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
2 medium onion, sliced
2 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup and 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup and 2 Tablespoons ketchup
2 Tablespoons and 2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 Tablespoon and 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
Combine salt and pepper; rub over meat.
In a Dutch oven, brown steak in oil on both sides.
Add the water, tomato sauce, onion and garlic.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Combine the remaining ingredients; pour over the meat.
Cover and simmer for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until meat is tender.
