steak - Pepper Steak
1 1/2 pounds beef steak, 1/2 inch thick,
...trimmed of fat and cut into 1 inch strips
1/4 c. salad oil
1 c. beef bouillon
1 onion, cut in 1/4" slices
1 clove minced garlic
2 green peppers, cut into 3/4" strips
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. soy sauce
Heat the oil in large skillet.
Brown the meat in the oil, turning frequently while cooking.
Stir in bouillon, onion and garlic.
Heat to boiling, then reduce heat, cover and simmer 12 - 15 minutes for round steak, 4 - 8 minutes for sirloin.
Add green peppers during last 5 minutes of simmering.
Blend the cornstarch and soy sauce together and stir into the meat mixture.
Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to boil.
Boil one minute, stirring constantly.
Makes 4 servings.
Serve over hot potatoes, noodles or rice.
