    steak - Swiss Steak Slices

    1 pound boneless beef top round steak, 3/4 inch thick
    ...and sliced into very thin strips
    3 tablespoons cornstarch
    1 cup + 3/4 cup beef broth, separated (14 ounce can)
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
    1 cup chopped/diced canned tomatoes (8 ounces)
    1 medium onion, cut into wedges
    1 sliced celery rib
    4 cups hot cooked medium egg noodles, cooked without salt

    Mix cornstarch and 1 cup broth.
    Cook beef in nonstick skillet until browned, stirring often. Remove beef.
    Add remaining broth, garlic powder, sugar, tomatoes, onion and celery. Heat
    to a boil. Cover and cook over low heat 5 minutes or until vegetables are
    tender to your liking.
    Add cornstarch mixture. Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens.
    Return beef to skillet and heat through. Serve over noodles.
    Serves 4.

    Note:
    To make slicing easier, freeze beef for 1 hour.
