Apple Punch
1 1/2 pounds cooking apples
ginger ale or lemon lime soda
1 lemon
1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar, (6 ounces)
Thinly peel the lemon rind from lemon, then squeeze and
strain lemon juice into saucepan along with the lemon peels.
Peel, core and slice apples, and place in same saucepan as
lemon, along with water and sugar.
Cover and cook over low heat until apples are soft.
Remove lemon rind .
Press apple mixture through a sieve and allow to cool.
Chill.
To serve, stir juice, then fill a glass 3/4 full with juice,
then fill to top with ginger ale or lemon lime soda.
Stir and serve.
