Recipe Introduction
The following recipes are for typical 1 lb. bread machine models, but can be made in any size machine. It's great used for making grilled cheese, or eating with soup, salads, or stews.
List of Ingredients
Bmachine - Basic White Bread
8 ounces water
2 c. white flour
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. dry powdered milk
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. yeast
Place ingredients in the machine, in the order listed by your machine's manufacturer.
Variations*:
*Sun Dried Tomato + Cheese
Add the basic white bread recipe to your pan, following the manufacturer's order.
Optional: Add any spices at this point, for example rosemary, parsley, or thyme.
Start the machine on either 'regular' or 'rapid' cycle, whichever allows for ingredients to be added later.
If you use the sun dried tomatoes in spiced oil, you will not have to plump them up first.
Chop up 4 - 5 sun dried tomatoes or use a blender/food processor for smaller chunks, your choice.
Cube about 1 cup, total of cheddar, mozzarella, Swiss, and marble cheeses, again, your choice.
Add the cheese and tomatoes at the prompt for chunky ingredients.
(If you don't want chunky cheese, add when the initial ingredients are put in.
After it's baked, allow it to cool for about 20 minutes before slicing.
*Pizza Bread
Add the basic white bread recipe to your pan, following the manufacturer's order, EXCEPT use about 8 tbsp. of spaghetti sauce in your measuring cup and THEN add the water until it comes up to the 8oz., (1 cup) mark.
Add almost a teaspoon of each: dried oregano, dried parsley, and dried rosemary.
Start the bread machine to use the cycle that allows for ingredients to be added later.
Cube 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and add at the beeps for any chunky additions.
If desired, you may add anything you'd normally put on a pizza; keep in mind that canned mushrooms will contain a little water, as will pineapple, olives, green peppers, etc.; so adjust the water amount accordingly. Precooked diced bacon or tiny cubed ham are tasty additions.
Allow to cool for about 20 minutes before slicing.
