1 pound lean ground beef
1 large white onion, sliced and separated
...into rings
1 medium to large head of cabbage, thinly sliced
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup water
2 packages dinner roll mix
Prepare the roll mix according to instructions on package
and allow to rise once.
Meanwhile in large cooking pot, brown the meat in some oil.
Add the onion and the cabbage, salt and pepper.
Add water.
Cover pot and simmer mixture until cabbage is thoroughly
cooked (about 20 minutes). Remove from heat.
After the dough has risen once, roll it out into 4 inch squares.
Place 3 tablespoons of the cabbage mixture in the center of
each dough square.
Fold the flour corners towards the middle.
Pinch the seams to seal and place on a baking sheet, folded
side down and gently form each dough into a bun.
Cover with a tea towel and let rise a second time.
Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
Bake for 10 to 20 minutes.
Serve warm or reheat later.
