Recipe Introduction

This one has been in my mother's recipe box for many years before I ever copied it. You can substitute salad dressing for the mayonaise, if you wish.

List of Ingredients

scratch - Chocolate Mayonaise Cake #1*

2 cups flour
1 cup white granulated sugar
2 level teaspoons baking soda
1 cup mayonaise
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and flour a tube pan.
Mix all ingredients together and pour into pan.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
Let cool, then frost.
