    List of Ingredients

    scratch - Marble Milano Cake

1 7.5oz bag double chocolate Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookies,
...(15 cookies), or flavor of your choice
    1/4 c. + 3/4 c. unsalted butter, divided, (1/2 + 1 1/2 sticks)
    2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
    1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    4 large eggs
    1 8oz. container sour cream
    2 tsp. vanilla extract

Break the cookies into 1/2" pieces or place in a plastic bag, and roll gently with a rolling pin.
Pour the cookies into a bowl.
Melt 1/4 c., (1/2 stick), butter and toss with cookies. Set aside.
Use a small saucepan set over hot water, or in the microwave, and melt the unsweetened chocolate, stirring till it’s smooth. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a 9x9x2" square bake or 9x3" springform pan.
Use a small bowl and stir the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda together. Set aside.
Use a larger bowl and beat the remaining 3/4 c., (1 1/2 sticks) butter and sugar together, until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition and scraping the bottom and sides of the bowl.
Beat until the mixture is light colored and fluffy.
Stir in the sour cream and vanilla.
Slowly add the dry ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
Spoon 3/4 of the batter into the baking pan.
Add the melted chocolate to the remaining batter in the bowl.
Stir till there are no light colored streaks remaining.
Drop dollops of the chocolate batter on top of white batter.
Use 2 knives, swirl the dark batter, in a criss cross motion, until a marbled effect is achieved.
Sprinkle the crumbled cookies over the batter.
Press in gently with your fingers.
Bake for 55 - 60 minutes, until it is golden brown and a tester comes out clean.
(The round cake will take slightly longer to bake than the square one.)
Let cool it in the pan.
If using the springform pan, remove the sides after 20 minutes and place on a serving plate.
The square pan can just be cut into pieces.
    Makes 12 - 16 servings.
