    scratch - Milky Way Cake #3

    7 + 3 regular chopped Milky Way Bars, separated
    1/2 c. + 1/2 c. + 3/8 c. butter, room temp.
    ...(2 full sticks and 3 tbsp. of another stick)
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts, optional

    Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour a bundt pan to within an inch of the top of the pan. It is very important NOT to grease and flour all the way to the top or it will run over, make a mess in the oven AND the cake will fall.
    In microwave or double boiler, melt 7 of the candy bars with 1/2 c. of the butter. Stir until smooth, and set aside to cool.
    In a large bowl, cream sugar, and 1/2 c. more of the butter until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
    In another bowl, stir together flour and baking soda.
    Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to creamed mixture, ending with the flour mixture.
    Stir in candy mixture and vanilla until well blended.
    Bake for about 50 - 60 min. or until tester inserted in cake comes out clean.
    Melt the other 3 Milky Way candy bars with the 3/8 c. of the butter. Let cool partially, then pour glaze over top of the cake, and let it run down the sides.
    Sprinkle with chopped nuts, if desired.
