Recipe Introduction

I have no idea where my mother got this one. But it is an excellent coffeecake type cake. We had this many times when getting together with our aunts, uncles and cousins. Great for any kind of a get togehter.

List of Ingredients

scratch - Schmecadoodle Cake*

3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
pinch salt
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. white granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. milk
1 lb. light brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, cut into dabs

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a 9x12x2" pan.
Mix together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla together.
Add milk.
Blend in flour mixture and pour into pan.
Sprinkle brown sugar all over the top.
Dot with butter.
Bake for 35 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
