scratch - Seven Up Pound Cake

1 cup butter
1/2 cup butter flavor shortening
2 cups white granulated sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1 cup 7 Up soda pop or lemon/lime
1 teaspoon lemon or vanilla flavoring
powdered confectioners sugar for sprinkling

Preheat oven to
Grease a 10 inch tube or bundt pan.
Cream together the butter, shortening and sugar.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each
Add flour alternately with soda and flavoring.
Pour into pan and bake until tester comes out clean.
Let cool 5 minutes, then remove from pan.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
