    Source of Recipe

This is a dense chocolate cake.
The glaze will give the cake a smooth look.

cakeMix - Chocolate Addiction Cake w/Glaze

    for the cake:
1 2 layer boxed devil's food cake mix
1 3oz. pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix
    2 c. sour cream
    1 c. melted butter
    5 eggs
    1 tsp. almond extract
    2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1/4 c. strawberry jelly
1/4 c. raspberry or blackberry jelly

    for the glaze:
6 1oz. squares semi sweet or milk chocolate, broken into small pieces
    2/3 c. light cream

    for the cake:
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 10" bundt cake pan or 2 9" or10" round cake pans.
Stir together the cake mix and the pudding mix in a large bowl.
Pour in the sour cream, melted butter, eggs and almond extract.
Beat until blended. Then beat well.
    Mix in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 50 - 55 minutes.
Let cool in pan(s) for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and let cool completely.
Add the jellies to a bowl and whip together until it is of spreading consistency.
(May need or want to add just a tad more of each if you want a thicker layer.)
If using the bundt pan, cut cake across the middle so you have 2 layers.
Spread the jelly mixture between the layers.

    for the glaze:
Place the chocolate pieces and the cream in a medium saucepan.
Heat, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth.
Allow to cool until it is thick enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon.
(Use now for a smooth glossy glazey icing or allow to thicken to make a swirled pattern.)
Place the cake on a rack and pour the icing over the top.
Spread it out and allow to drizzle down the sides.
You could make extra to coat the sides to seal the entire cake.
If you want decorations added, do it now as it will set up with the glazing.
    Makes 12 servings.
