My own comments: I made this for labor day 2006 and it
came out so moist and was definitely delicious!
scratch - Chocolate Glazed Marble Cake
chocolate mixture:
1 cup (225 g) sugar
1 cup (225 g) margarine
1 cup (200 g) flour
1/8 cup or 1 ounce, (25 g) cocoa powder
4 eggs
1 tablespoon milk
white mixture:
1 cup ( 225 g) sugar
1 cup ( 225 g) butter
1 cup ( 225 g) flour
4 eggs
for the glazing:
plain chocolate candy bar(s), broken up
coconut powder, optional
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (gas mark 6)
Butter and flour a 9x9x2 inch (24x24cm) baking pan.
chocolate mixture:
Cream butter and sugar untill light and fluffy.
In a seperate bowl mix the flour and the cocoa powder.
Add a few spoons of the flour mixture and mix then beat
in an egg. Do this until the eggs and flour mixture have
blended. IF the mixture is too dry add the milk.
white mixture:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add some flour, then beat in an egg.
Do this until the eggs and flour have blended.
Place blobs of the chocolate mixture into the pan.
Then do the same with the white mixture.
Use a butter knife or small spatula to slowly swirl the
mixtures in the pan, but not so it turns tan/light brown,
just so it forms a spiral of white and brown. Bake for 30
minutes. Let cake cool.
for the glazing:
Melt the chocolate pieces over a pan of boiling water.
Spread or drizzle over top of cake. Sprinkle with the
coconut, if desired.
Makes 8 - 10 servings.
