scratch - Cola Cake + Frosting
2 cups flour
2 cyos sugar
1 cup butter, (2 sticks)
3 Tablespoon cocoa powder
1 cup cola soda pop
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease a 9 x 11 x 2 inch baking pan.
Combine flour and sugar in mixing bowl.
Heat butter, cocoa and soda to boiling point.
Pour over flour and sugar mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, vanilla and marshmallows.
Beat together. Mix well.
This will be a thin batter, with marshmallows floating on top.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
Frost while hot.
for frosting:
1/2 cup butter, (1 stick)
3 Tablespoons cocoa powder
6 Tablespoon cola soda pop, (may use 10 tbsp.)
1, 1 pound box powdered confectioners sugar
1 cup chopped pecans, optional
Combine butter, cocoa, and cola.
Heat to a boiling point.
Pour sugar into cocoa mixture. Beat well.
Add the pecans and pour over the hot cake.
