    scratch - Drop Cakes #2

    1 cup butter
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1 small teaspoon baking-powder
    1 pint flour (liquid is 2 cups, so?)
    1 cup washed and picked currants
    1 teaspoon each extract - nutmeg and lemon
    1/2 cup milk

    Rub the butter and sugar to a white, light cream;
    add the eggs, beat ten minutes.
    Sift the flour and baking powder together.
    Add the flour mixture, the milk, and extracts.
    Mix into a rather firm batter.
    Drop with a spoon on a greased baking sheet.
    Bake in a quick oven (375 to 400 degrees) for 10 minutes.
