Candied Jalapenos
1 1/4 c. fresh sliced Jalapeno peppers
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water green food coloring, optional
Combine the jalapeno slices, sugar and water together in a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer 15 - 20 minutes until the peppers are cooked and the liquid has boiled down to a thick syrup.
Remove from the heat and add 1 drop green food coloring, if desired, to tint the syrup.
Place in a clean jar and refrigerate.
