Sponge Candy #2
2 cups brown corn syrup
2 cups granulated white sugar
2 Tablespoons white vinegar
2 Tablespoons baking soda
Stir syrup, sugar and vinegar together in a Dutch oven.
Boil to 300 degrees. Takes a while on medium.
Take off heat, put in baking soda. Stir like the dickens!
Put in 9 x 13 inch and 9 x 9 inch buttered pans.
Cut in squares.
Little bits will be left in pan.
Set on wax paper.
May dip in dipping chocolate, if desired.
Put in refrigerator to set.
