Cabbage + Beef Casserole
1 medium head coarsely shredded cabbage, (8 cups)
1/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 pound ground beef
1 cup soft bread crumbs, *about 1 1/2 slices of bread)
1/2 cup milk
1 small chopped onion
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspooon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teasooon dried marjoram leaves
Heat cabbage, water and 1/4 teaspoon salt to boiling.
Cover and simmer until cabbage is wilted, about 5 minutes.
Drain and set aside. Mix remaining ingredients together.
Place half of the cabbage in bottom of ungreased 2 quart
casserole. Spread beef mixture over cabbage. Then top with
remaining cabbage. Cover and bake for 44 to 60 minutes,
until done minutes. Serve with cranberry sauce and creamy
potatoes if desired. Recipe
