Heavenly Ground Beef Casserole
2 lbs ground beef
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
28 ounces tomato sauce
1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies, optional
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 pint sour cream
1 cup chopped onion
1 lb egg noodles
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Brown ground beef until done.
Add garlic, salt, green chilies and tomato sauce and simmer for 30 minutes.
While that simmers, mix together cream cheese, sour cream and onions.
Cook noodles al dente to package directions. Drain.
Coat a 9x13x2 pan with cooking spray.
Layer:
1/3 of sauce,
1/2 noodles,
1/2 cream cheese mixture,
1/2 mozzarella cheese.
Repeat, ending with sauce.
Bake for 30 minutes
Remove from oven, cover and let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
Makes 4 servings.
