1, 18 ounce prepackaged refrigerated cookie dough
green food coloring
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
a 3 inch round cookie cutter
1, 14 ounce bag holiday colored milk chocolate candies*,
...see note below
1, 16 ounce container vanilla frosting
24 pieces of 12x12 inch clear squares cellophane
1/2 inch wide holiday color(s/ed) ribbon
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix the food coloring and extract into the dough.
Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut out 24 cookies with the cookie cutter.
Place on baking sheets prepared according to the
cookie dough package.
Bake for 10 - 12 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool.
Spread with frosting and place some the candies on
the top before the frosting dries.
Carefully wrap the cookies in the cellophane.
Twist the ends and tie with ribbon.
Makes 24 cookies
*Note:
For an extra minty flavor, use the mint flavored
chocolate candies.
