30 milk chocolate Hershey's kisses, wrappers removed
2 egg whites
1/8 level teaspoon cream of tartar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cups white granulated sugar
Recipe
Heat oven to 375. Grease the baking sheets.
Beat the egg whites with cream of tartar, salt, and vanilla in a
medium bowl until soft peaks form.
Gradually add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating 4 - 5 minutes,
or until stiff peaks form. The mixture will be glossy, and the sugar
should be dissolved.
Drop the meringue by half teaspoons onto baking sheet.
Place a kiss on the top.
Then cover the chocolate with a small teaspoon of meringue, making
certain to completely cover the chocolate.
Place the cookies in a hot oven. Turn off the oven. Do not peek.
Allow cookies to remain in the oven overnight or until the oven has
cooled completely.
Makes 30 cookies.
