List of Ingredients
1 cup butter, need not be softened
1/3 cup white granulated sugar
1 tablespoon water or milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 cup powdered or chopped nuts
1 cup sifted, powdered confectioners sugar
Recipe
Beat butter in a bowl by itself. Then add the granulated sugar, water, and
vanilla and beat until combined.
Stir the flour and nuts. Refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 325. Need ungreased baking sheets.
Roll into 1 inch balls or 2x1/2 inch crescent shapes.
Place on cookie sheet and bake for about 20 minutes or until the bottoms are
lightly browned.
Cool on a wire rack.
Place the confectioners sugar in a bag and gently shake the cooled cookies.
OR...
Before baking, roll the balls in white granulated sugar and flatten by
crisscrossing with a fork.
Bake as directed, but do not roll in powdered sugar.
Makes about 36 cookies.
May be frozen in a sealed container for up to 1 month.
