1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup sour cream
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 level teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
water
extra sugar


Recipe

Preheat oven to 350. Use ungreased cookie sheets.
Cream together shortening and sugar.
Add egg and beat well.
Then add sour cream and mix.
Add flour, baking soda and salt and mix.
Add vanilla and mix well.
Drop on cookie sheet.
Dip the bottom of a small glass in water, then in the extra sugar, and press down on dropped cookie dough.
Bake for 12 - 16 minutes.
