    drop - Walnut Shortbread Cookies

    1 cup softened butter
    3/4 cup powdered confectioners sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 1/2 cups powdered walnuts
    2 cups flour
    pieces of walnut, optional

    Preheat oven to 325.
    By hand, cream butter, sugar and vanilla until light.
    Stir in powdered walnuts.
    Slowly blend in flour.
    Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet.
    Press with fork to make lines on top.
    Press optional piece of walnut on top.
    Or
    Push dough into a 9" removable bottomed pie pan. Score with fork into 12 pie wedges and place a walnut piece on each.
    Set pan on a cookie sheet.
    Bake loose cookies for 8 - 10 minutes, until edges get golden brown. Bake pan 15 - 20 minutes.
    Remove to rack to cool.
