    bar - Maple Walnut Bars

    for base:
1 1/2 cups all purpose or unbleached flour
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup softened butter

    filling:
    3/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons all purpose or unbleached flour
3/4 cup Hungry Jack® Microwave Ready Regular Syrup
    2 Tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon maple flavor or extract
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

    for glaze:
    1 cup powdered confectioners sugar
1/2 teaspoon maple flavor or extract
    1 to 2 Tablespoons milk

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9x2 inch pan.
In large bowl, combine all base ingredients. Beat at low
speed until crumbly. Press mixture in bottom of pan. Bake
for 12 to 14 minutes or until light brown.

Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine all filling ingredients
except walnuts; beat until well combined. Stir in walnuts.

Remove pan from oven; pour filling evenly over warm base.
Return to oven and bake for an additional 20 to 30 minutes
or until filling is set. Let cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.

In small bowl, combine all glaze ingredients, blending until
smooth, adding enough milk for desired drizzling consistency.
Drizzle evenly over bars. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.
    Makes 36 bars.
