    I don't know where the toffee is in this but I copied it as it came. Maybe if you sprinkled some toffee chips on top before baking...?

    List of Ingredients




    bar - Toffee Cookies

    1 cup butter
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 cups sifted flour
    1 giant Hershey bar
    3/4 cup chopped nuts, if desired

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease your cookie sheet.
    In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar together. Add egg and
    vanilla. Add flour to other ingredients. Mix together and press into
    cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes. Let cool 15 minutes.
    While cooling, melt Hershey bar in double-boiler (or
    microwave). Spread over cooled dough. Sprinkle
    with nuts. Cut into squares. Makes 3 dozen.
