    drop - Fresh Apple Cookies #2

    1 cup butter, (16 Tablespoons)
    2 2/3 cups packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons ground cloves
    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1/2 cup apple juice
    4 cups flour
    2 cups chopped apples
    2 cups raisins

    glaze:
    3 cups powdered confectioners sugar
    5 Tablespoons apple juice
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    2 Tablespoons butter

    Heat oven to 375 degrees.
    Lightly grease baking sheets.
    Cream together the 1 c. of the butter, brown sugar and eggs.
    Add baking soda, spices and apple juice and mix well.
    Gradually add flour, mixing well after each addition.
    Fold in apples and raisins.
    Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake for 10 - 12 minutes.

    glaze:
    Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth.
    With knife spread warm cookies with glaze.

    To freeze put between layers of waxed paper in plastic container.
