    drop - Oatmeal Raisin Cookies**

    Source of Recipe

    mine
When my husband and I were first married, and I wasn't working, I had a baking day. It was Fridays. I would make all kinds of cookies, cakes and pies. That way I had things to pack in lunches or just for desserts, until the next week and I would also give some of everything to other family members so they would have home baked things too. I tried so many oatmeal recipes and didn't like any of them so I finally came up with this one. It should just about melt in your mouth! I always doubled this or I would run out. I was at a bakery a while back and they were making cookies, the aroma smelled so familiar and good...they gave me a warm oatmeal cookie to sample...and I just couldn't believe it....they tasted just like mine! Now That was amazing.

    drop - Oatmeal Raisin Cookies**

    1 cup flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 level teaspoon baking powder
    3 cups uncooked regular oatmeal
    1/2 cup butter
    1/4 cup butter flavored shortening
    1/2 cup light brown sugar
    1/2 cup white granulated sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup milk
    1 cup raisins

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
    Very lightly grease baking sheets.
Mix flour, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, baking powder
and oatmeal together and set aside.
Cream together butter, shortening, sugars, vanilla
    and eggs together.
Slowly add dry ingredients to cream mixture,
    alternating with milk.
    Last add the raisins.
Drop by 1/2 teaspoonsful on baking sheets.
    Bake for 8 - 10 minutes.
(this is for an electric oven....check after 5 minutes
    for a gas oven.)
Makes 6 1/2 dozen bite sized cookies.
