    roll - Ginger Cookies, chewy

    1 1/4 c. Shortening (Crisco)
    1 1/2 c. Sugar
    1/3 c. Molasses
    2 small or 1 large egg
    3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    3 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
    1 1/2 tsp cloves
    1 1/2 tsp ginger
    Roll in small balls, roll balls in sugar. Place 2 inches
    apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees
    for 8 minutes.--NOTE: The time is VERY important!!!
    Overcooking will make them crispy.
