    Chili Sauce #1

    List of Ingredients

    7 1/2 pounds fresh chopped tomatoes, (4 qrts)
    2 cups chopped onion
    3 chopped green peppers
    2 tablespoons salt
    1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
    1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
    1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
    1 1/2 teasspoons ground black pepper
    2 cups white vinegar
    1/2 cups packed brown sugar

    Recipe

    Combine all the ingredients in a large Dutch oven size pot. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
    Pour hot mixture into hot 1/2 pint jars, filling 1/2 inch from top.
    Remove air bubbles. Wipe jar rims. Cover with lids, and screw on bands.
    Process in boiling water bath for 15 minutes.
    Makes 11 half pints.
