leftover - Chicken Crescents
3 ounces cream cheese
3 Tablespoons butter
2 cups leftover cooked chicken
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 Tablespoons milk
1 Tablespoon chopped onions
1, 8 ounce can refrigerated crescent rolls
3/4 cup seasoned croutons, crushed
Blend cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of the butter together.
Add chicken, salt, pepper, milk and onions; mix.
Separate dough into 4 rectangles; press perforations to seal. Place 1/2
cup of mixture in center of each. Bring all 4 corners to center and seal
edges. Brush tops with butter and sprinkle croutons over them. Bake
17 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees on an ungreased cookie sheet.
I like to serve with a cream gravy . And, they reheat nicely in the
microwave so you can take leftovers to work. And canned chicken will
work really well in these.
My Note. I double this recipe for the filling.
Also, you may use any combination you like, such as mushrooms, green
peppr, olives, roast red pepper or whatever you have handy.
Very forgiving recipe.
