    crockpot - Ravioli Casserole #2

    1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef, or pork, or
    ...turkey or chicken
    1 medium chopped onion
    2 minced garlic cloves
    1, 28 ounce can diced or chopped tomatoes
    ...with it's juice
    1, 15 ounce can tomato sauce
    2 teaspoons Italian herb seasoning
    1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    1, 12 ounce package bow tie, fettuccine pasta,
    ...cooked al dente to package directions, drained
    1, 10 ounce package frozen chopped spinach,
    ...thawed and squeezed dry
    2 cups Ricotta cheese
    1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

    Use a large frying pan over a medium/high heat and cook
    the meat, onion and garlic together.
    Stir often to break up any big lumps of meat. Cook until
    the meat loses its pink color, about 5 minutes.
    Drain the excess fat out of the pan by tilting it, then
    place the beef mixture in a 3 1/2 quart crockpot/slow cooker.
    Add the tomatoes, the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning and
    pepper.
    Stir, then cover and cook on low heat for 7 - 8 hours.

    Skim any fat from the surface of meat sauce.
    Stir in the cooked pasta, spinach, and ricotta and
    Parmesan cheese and slowly cook for 5 minutes.
    Makes 6 - 8 servings.
