    Crockpot - Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

    List of Ingredients




    16 large cabbage leaves
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1/4 c. cooked rice
    1 6oz. can tomato paste
    3/4 c. beef broth
    1 small finely chopped onion
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme
    1/2 c. thinly sliced and cut in half smoked sausage

    Recipe



    Wash the cabbage leaves and set 4 aside.
    Boil 4 c. of water. Turn off the heat.
    Soak the leaves in the hot water for 5 minutes.
    Remove, drain and let cool. Finely chop the 4 cabbage leaves.
    Combine the meat, 1/2 of the finely chopped cabbage, rice, salt, pepper, and thyme
    Place 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture on each leaf and roll firmly.
    Stack in the crockpot/slow cooker.
    Sprinkle in the smoked sausage pieces.
    Combine the other half of the finely chopped cabbage, the tomato paste and the broth.
    Pour over the stuffed cabbage.
    Cover and cook on low for 8 - 10 hours.
