    List of Ingredients

    crockpot - Short Ribs + Gravy

    4 pounds lean pork or beef short ribs
    1/2 c. plus a little extra, flour
    1 1/2 tsp. paprika
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    2 med. sliced or chopped onions,
    ...if using sliced onions, separate into rings
    1 chopped clove garlic
    1 c. beer or beef broth
    2 tbsp. water

    Place the short ribs on a broiler rack or in a skillet and brown to remove the fat. Drain well and set aside.
    Combine the 1/2 c. flour, paprika, salt and dry mustard in a bowl.
    Add the ribs and toss to coat.
    Put the onion, garlic and beef broth into the crockpot/slow cooker.
    Place the ribs into the crockpot and cook on low for 8 - 10 hours.
    Remove the ribs and keep warm on a platter.
    Increase the crockpot's temperature to high.
    Make a smooth paste of the extra flour and the 2 tbsp. water. Whisk the thickening paste into the sauce. Cover and heat until thickened.
    Makes 6 servings.
